Help me identify jazz combo with electric violinist?
A long time ago somebody showed me a recording of a fusion combo. I remember there was an electric violin solo and a drum solo. The drummer’s playing was very unique and eccentric, sort of sparse, but just very different. Also I remember being told that the drummer was a short Jewish guy with curly black hair I think, and that the drummer was the leader of the group. I know this isn’t a lot to go by, but do you recognize anything?
AnswerBot answers:
Possibly Michael Urbaniak, Not sure what his drummer looks like but he had a spare & unique style. The violin sound was quite modified electronically w/ echo, distortion, phasing, etc.

Who is a really good electric violinist i can find on Itunes??
i cannot find any one itunes
AnswerBot answers:
I enjoy Vanessa Mae- the song Storm is a neat version of Vivaldi’s Summer of the Four Seasons. If you’re interested, Bond is an electric quartet, also classical crossover.
